:. Organic Food

The majority of Americans only eat regular processed food. Over half of us do not think about healthier options. Most of the American people just think of food that sounds "good" or convenient at the time. Organic foods are a much healthier alternative to these fat and salty processed foods. Organic foods most of the time do not obtain GMOs. GMOs have been proven harmful to animals in many situations. Organic foods sometimes cost a little more than the unhealthy foods that people are inclined to buy but over all will help people live longer and healthier lifes. More people in recent years have made the switch to organic foods because of studies people have done proving that regular processed foods are unhealthier than these new organics. I am still puzzled on things such as: Why have all people not switched to organics when the facts of living longer are proven? What is keeping the food industries from switching completely to organics?
I would love to hear others thoughts on this matter.

  1. Dear Foodasaurus,
First of all, I defiantely agree with your statements. Organic foods are the best option for our health. Not only are these foods not processed, but they are also farmed using earth friendly practices.

I am glad you mentioned the insertion of GMOs into processed foods. This allows readers to ponder what additives are being put into the foods people are consuming regularly.

I also encourage your honesty in blogging. Yes, organic foods are more expensive, but these foods may be worth the extra hurt on your bank account. It is unfortunate, however, that these products are not available logically to the lower classes. Especially when these product may increase the chances of a healthier lifestyle and longevity to life.

Thank you for making this knowledge aware to the public. I believe this is information which we need to be aware of as a society. Please keep writing on the tough issues of our society's food production.

    Sincerely, Sebastian

  2. Dear Foodasaurus,
I myself have yet to understand why people still have yet to make the switch from processed food to organic. I try my best to stay away from processed food by eating salad, but that is not even 100% organic. I found out a few weeks ago that even the salads have pesticides that could also be potentially harmful.
"Why have all people not switched to organics when the facts of living longer are proven?" The simplest answer I can give you is that I have no clue. Maybe I could be a farmer and stand on the streets yelling this very question to people, but I doubt that would actually work. People are so focused on the here and now that they forget how it might effect their future.
I appreciate the fact that my fellow classmates are also confused and concerned about this matter. Keep up the good work!
